Deadmau5 signs to Astralwerks, will release ‘We Are Friends Vol. 2’ on new label

Astralwerks and Deadmau5 have formed a strategic partnership in which the long-time label will serve as the exclusive U.S. distributor and label partner for Joel Zimmerman’s imprint, Mau5trap Recordings. The two-part agreement will announce that Deadmau5 is (still) a global label partner for Mau5trap, and now also an Astralwerks artist rostered in the U.S. Joel will still have creative control over Mau5trap, where he will still identify and develop new talent in succession of artists like Le Castle Vania, Feed Me, and Foreign Beggars. Mau5trap will still continue to operate out of their current headquarters in Toronto. Kicking off the partnership, Astralwerks will release Deadmau5’s highly anticipated release of We Are Friends Vol. 2 (which includes “Your Ad Here” and “Suckfest9001”) on November 12, 2013 with its pre-sale launching on October 22nd.
