Dutch trailblazers and Brotherly production outfit Dubvision have come a long way since breaking the seal with Spinnin Records debut “All By Myself.” Back on the beat after a successful stint alongside Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano for “Triton,” brothers Steve and Victor Leicher fall back under the umbrella of Sander Van Doorn’s accomplished offshoot with an aptly tailored original. For a duo that has actively sought a middle ground between the melodic core that first propelled their name and the adrenaline-fuelled properties that have pervaded modern dance music, “Rifler” is a fair compromise. Eager strings and full-bodied synths chase a convincing yet coordinated climax of festival-primed energy – one true to their melodic mission and bound with that seal of quality we have come to expect from their discography to date. True to form, Dubvision remain one of the more intriguing Dutch assets of the time, matching an otherwise sparing discography with the priceless peak time aptitude that commands a little patience.
