Since launching last May, Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings has oped for quality over quantity, carefully selecting tracks to sign and support. After releasing Kryder’s “Pyrmd” earlier this week, Michael Calfan’s “Falcon” has been announced as next in line for PR015. Kicked off with tone play before bleeding into a more conventional big room sound, the short sample breaks at the halfway point, abandoning the melody for a percussive machine gun pop. The first solo work from the Frenchman this year, the snippet leaves listeners with an amalgamation of the best parts of previous work – the title itself may even be an anagram.
