Monsta reveals new name along with new track ‘Evolution’
The UK trio that brought you “Holding On” is now letting go in a big way. After debuting their latest track “Evolution” on SoundCloud, the artists formerly known as Monsta have announced from here on out they will be known as I See Monstas. If a change to their YouTube titles, Twitter handle and profile picture weren’t enough to convince you of the switch, a message left on their Facebook page confirms the band’s rechristening:
This is something we have wanted to do for a while now as we wanted to make our name less about us (as in, who is MONSTA?) and more external and about how we see things, in life, music and everything really.
The moniker isn’t the only thing that has been modified, and a listen to “Evolution” shows a further progression in musical styling. Heavy on the vocals with an upbeat drum & bass beat flitting between rock elements, the track feels more organic and less electronic than past work. Played out on Zane Lowe and due for release on October 3rd, the tune is the first single and title track off the group’s forthcoming EP: Stay tuned to see how just evolved I See Monstas has become.
