Funkagenda pays homage to classics, steers away from electronic music on '80s Throwdown'
Something interesting is happening in Los Angeles, and it’s nothing to be associated with a certain, notorious three-letter acronym. WOW WTF LA, a small, casual group, describe themselves as “a music collective of electronic music DJs and industry professionals dedicated to bringing you anything but electronic music.”
Listed alphabetically, the first name on the billing is Adam Walder. Although better known as Funkagenda, his birth name is the more appropriate fit given the aforementioned credo. Spinning at a recent WOW WTF LA hosted birthday celebration, he delivered a funky, throwback set that clocks in at one-hour and delivers classics from dance floors past without a trace of rave grounds present.
Funkagenda has now dubbed that set as “The 80s Throwdown,” and is giving it away for fans looking to dance in decade without an “EDM” umbrella of genres.
