Major Lazer to finish new album ‘by the end of the year’
Trinidad & Tobago’s favorite electronic music artist, Jillionaire, took to Australian radio to announce that the next Major Lazer album should be done by the end of this year. After so recently dropping Free The Universe, the individual members doing immense amounts of solo work, and participating in a heavy touring schedule, one would expect that the group may take a break. However, Diplo and the Black Chiney star Walshy Fire join Jillionaire in their desire to continue writing and producing high quality music.
“We’ve had a crazy [touring] schedule,” he said. “I think we’ve been touring for the last 18 months. It’s been crazy, it’s been hectic, it’s been a lot of fun. I think that once this year shuts down we’re gonna pull it back in and do a lot less touring. Right now we’re going in to a bunch of writing sessions for the next album, and hopefully we’re gonna finish that off by the end of the year. It should be out sometime next year.”
