While the hype around Kaskade’s Atmosphere has slowly floated back to sea level, Ultra Records isn’t quite ready for the fanfare to end. Tasking bass bad boys Dirtyphonics with remix duties, the label scored a Pete Tong premiere of “Last Chance” on Evolution Radio. Where the original marries Project 46’s euphoric tendencies with Kaskade’s progressive prowess into a house track that resembles the Swedish variety, the Parisian quartet blasts off with a dose of dubstep before allowing snippets of the vocals to shine through. Brilliantly playing off the bass/beauty juxtaposition that has replaced the wailing wobble of 2011, Dirtyphonics’ rework of “Last Chance” give the tune another chance to shine.
