Tiësto announces new deal with Universal Music Group, talks new album for 2014

In Tiësto‘s latest episode of his behind-the-scenes series, ‘In the Booth,’ viewers follow the Dutch electronic superstar into a meeting at Universal Music Group’s Republic Records. In the short minute and a half clip, Tiësto gracefully announces his latest signing with UMG’s Republic Records and progress on his upcoming 2014 album. Despite his already iconic standing as a pioneer of electronic music, it seems like the producer doesn’t have plans to bow out of the game anytime soon. “It would be really cool to have an album that’s Top 10 all over the world,” Tiësto explains. “With a partner like Universal, that’s a lot easier … They help me work on tracks, they can help me to get bigger feature singers to make this super epic album.” We see a quick listening session between the two parties and hear a preview of “Footprints,” a festival-hit he debuted at Tomorrowworld – but fans will have to wait just a bit longer for the official release as the clip reveals that two unknown singles will likely be released before “Footprints” debuts before the launch of his next LP.
