Mixmash up-and-comers Wiwek & Cesqeaux lay the groundwork for another sonic statement with the cryptically ambient “Ritual.” Invoking a tribal percussion section and howling incantations, the pair’s first collaboration makes incredible use of festival-driven synthwork placed inside an ancient ruin. A much more sinister version of “Wakanda,” the Dutch duo may take a page from a familiar book, but they color the pages in black here, bringing the tribal elements to the front of the frantic snares.
