With the music world on its toes awaiting tidbits of Disclosure’s recently announced Settle remix album, Canada’s Kaytranada, has taken the first stab with a rework of “January.” Known for his unique hip-hop, R&B and dance pieces, the versatile producer  puts a funky spin on the mellow track featuring singer Jamie Woon. While completely stripping the original’s instrumental, Kaytranada’s edition compliments the sweet vocals with a groovy bassline and deep xylophone-like melody. Between vocal parts, the song displays some bright percussion and rich piano-synth chords to keep this rework smooth and danceable. Slated for a December 17th release, “January” sets the tone for its still unannounced remix mates.
