Erol Alkan has been a pillar of dance music since he got his start in London’s underground in 1993. Twenty years later, the indie dance mainstay continues to deliver fluidly-produced hits designed for the sticky floors and smokey rooms where he got his start. His latest, “A Hold on Love” off the recently released Illumination EP, has just received its official music video. Appropriately developed, the video matches up perfectly with Alkan’s penchant for gripping and subdued rhythms. Dutifully in tune to the sound that got him started, the 38-year-old producer’s latest embodies the deviously repetitive and charming sounds of proper dance music.
