After gracing the 86th episode of our Axis mix series and previewing his rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” to close out 2013, Afrojack begins the new year with another preview. In stark contrast to his last teaser, “Musician” forgoes lyrics in favor of a purely instrumental original mix. The Dutch superstar’s trademark horns are also absent during the three minute teaser, but are replaced by a hollow and dark barrage of synths which continually progress as the preview reaches its conclusion. With “The Spark” gaining worldwide recognition as a radio-friendly hit, Afrojack begins 2014 by showcasing his darker side ahead of his debut album.
