Electronic music overruns the BRIT Awards; Disclosure and Rudimental receive multiple nominations

Across the pond, there’s reason to celebrate today; the BRIT Award nominations have been released, of which include more than a handful of nods to several notable electronic music acts. It comes as no surprise that English breakout duo Disclosure has swept the categories with a total of four nominations: British Breakthrough Act, British Group, British Single for “White Noise,” and British Album of the Year. Trailing close behind in multiple nominations for this year’s ceremony is drum and bass quartet Rudimental who claim three potential wins in British Group, British Single for “Waiting All Night,” and British Album of the Year as well. Other dance music standouts include Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s collaborative hit “I Need Your Love,” which competes alongside Disclosure and Rudimental for British Single and Daft Punk as contenders in the International Group category.

The BRIT Award ceremony airs live on Great Britain’s iTV on February 19th.
