While remixes of Ellie Goulding‘s summer hit “Burn” still frequent the airwaves, The Chainsmokers are spicing things up with a remix of Halycon Days’ second single, “Goodness Gracious.” Though the New York duo have demonstrated a penchant for pop in the past, for their latest effort they opt to cut out some of the bubble gum and replace it with a more matured and mellow progressive. A thoughtful beat takes over where bounce previously dominated while subtle effects play backup to Ellie’s always infectious vocals. Not only a sort of coming of age musically for Alex and Andrew, with a preview from the singer herself, this remix just might be the one that garners them name recognition outside the dance music community.
