When Diplo tweets about tickets to Mad Decent Block Party in a location as far as South Africa, it is only natural for some to believe he is merely being sarcastic. Surprisingly enough, MDBP will have a rather early start this year with tour dates beginning on February 8th and 9th in Johannesburg and Cape Town, respectively.
Last year, MDBP reached a historical high of touring 13 cities – more than a 50 percent increase from just five in 2012. So far, the lineup will headline Major Lazer, Dillon Francis and Flosstradamus. Seeing as the show has grown exponentially in such a short amount of time, fans can expect a colorful lineup similar to last year’s, in addition to many more tour dates across the US this summer.
