NSFW – Getting Away (Original + Remixes)
Nurvous Record’s second release of the year comes from Dutch indie dance fortitude NSFW, who makes his first original strike for the imprint to follow-up 2013’s Danger Zone EP for This Is Recordings. Rife with subtle instrumentation, blissful melodic form and that docile edge that the Amsterdam-based talent has flaunted throughout his career, “Getting Away” is by far one of NSFW’s most beautiful offerings to date. While British peers Punks Jump Up make for a crisper take more befitting for the dance floor, the drones and offbeat leads of outspoken Portuguese talent Xinobi’s remix make for a well rounded remix package. The market may be bowing to obnoxious drops and tired presets, but Nurvous and NSFW bring fundamental musicality back to the table for some essential early-year listening.
