SBTRKT unveils unreleased Jesse Ware and Sampha collaboration 'Runaway'
Past a consistent live presence and the remnants of his self-titled debut album, British muse SBTRKT sailed towards 2014 with little to warrant a sensational kick-start. But unknown to his loyal fan base at the turning of the New Year was that the man lesser known as Aaron Jerome had a welcome trick up his sleeve. At the close of his set for the Young Turk’s New Year’s Eve party in Tulum, Mexico, Jerome pulled out a previously unheard collaboration from the vaults. Featuring recurring collaborators Jesse Ware and South London songwriter Sampha, “Runaway” blissfully brings together the UK pairing. Still striking one of the more intriguing amalgamations of modern pop music and instrumental electronica, their second formal union to follow “Sanctuary” already has us craving a much longer edit, not to mention the prospect of album number two for 2014.
