Sebastien Léger runs ‘Waves of Life’ for overdue 1605 return [Preview]

Off the heels of last year’s “Eyeblusher” and a devilish debut for 100% Pure, the long serving Sebastien Léger rejoins Umek’s 1605 imprint for the first time since his 2010 remix of “Circles of Hell.” This time, Léger returns with original steam to flaunt, warping the label’s tech house comfort zone in the manner we have come to expect over the past two decades. Where EP title track “Waves Of Life” musters a fluid and melodically tuned take on the genre, “Tinkle” provides a funky and delinquently rhythmic alcove as beautifully executed as it is refreshing from 1605. There may be laurels to be rested on, but at first thrust of 2014 Sebastien Léger’s unpredictable sound scope is music to the ears that we can only hope resonates throughout the months to come.
