Armin van Buuren reveals new track ‘Ping Pong’ at ASOT650 Utrecht
While SoundCloud may officially break most previews, it is the thousands of dance fans that live for the live experience that truly get the first listen on the beloved and infuriating tracks known as IDs. Attendees at ASOT 650 Utrecht were among the lucky batch to hear one such premiere from Armin van Buuren, but in a benevolent spirit the labelhead and ringmaster let the rest of the world in on the secret. “Ping Pong” is the name and bouncy is undeniably the game of the new single, which mimics the yellow balls that fell from the ceiling during the live event. A percussion-heavy progressive jam, the tune takes its time warming up but when hot is off to the races, lobbing layers and curveballs at listeners in for the six-minute ride. Debuted with an even more aggressive rework from Simon Patterson, it appears that “Ping Pong” has made the first of many serves.
