The Dominican Republic’s new kid on the block Dex Morrison has been a man of notably secretive manoeuvres so far. Now, the 19-year-old contender emerges to show that whilst the electronic dance music scours for talent from some of the more typical electronic dance nations, this is one that has been patiently brewing to the utmost avail. For “Dreaming,” Morrison embraces his own cinematic take on the big room sound, using highly developed melodic progressions and atmospheric tendencies to assert a depth of sound lost upon the current generation of electronic dance talents with a progressive lean. As coherent for club play as it is a striking peak of quality for sophomore offerings, this is one international breakout almost certain to have the competition sweating for the first quarter of 2014.
