Fans taken ill at I Am Hardwell show in Belfast, media field day follows
The debut stint of Hardwell’s I Am Hardwell concept at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena was turned into a media field day last night after a number of fans became ill. Though the extent of the incident ranged between different media outlets, most recent reports claim that no one was seriously injured, though some 15 people were taken to hospitals within the city due to alcohol and drug-related illness. Staff from the Odyssey Arena have since confirmed that 60 patrons were not granted entry to the arena due to intoxication, with a minimal number of concert goers treated inside the actual premises.
Whilst the incident appears to have been a secluded case, the issue is sure to raise questions regarding the supply of alcohol to young people in the UK and Ireland. As the mainstream press continues to focus on the negatives of an otherwise positive time for dance music as a whole, Dancing Astronaut urges its readers to stay safe in their party ventures and look out for those around you.
