Giorgio Moroder and Chic reunite for one night only at the Hollywood Bowl

When quizzed about his future plans in our fall interview, Giorgio Moroder suggested that his wife had initiated plans for a collaborative streak alongside Chic’s increasingly popular strummer Nile Rodgers. The details were sparse, but they kept us hungry for what 2014 had in store. Today, the legendary producer has announced plans to bring the iconic waves of 70’s dance music to the Hollywood Bowl with a one-off show alongside Chic in May.

Co-produced by Andrew Hewitt, Bill Silva and HARD Events, the event is set to feed the infatuation for vintage sounds built up by Daft Punk’s return to the album platform Random Access Memories – One that both Moroder and Rodgers donned their musical hands to. With contemporary legends Oliver, Tensnake and Destructo along for the ride, Hollywood is in for one nostalgic night come May 10. The golden age of disco may have passed, but here lies indisputable proof that its spirit lives on in 2014.

Tickets for the Hollywood Bowl show go on sale this Friday.
