VIPs are a rather unique facet of electronic music. Not to say they’re exclusive to this type of music, but certainly a common and exciting trope within the space. Variations in production offer producers a chance to reimagine their own tracks, and with his “House VIP” to “Fire,” Jacob Plant has done just that. Known for his thunderous dubstep, trap, and electro, the London producer puts an unexpectedly groovy spin on his big room single. The festival-tested drop has been swapped for a deeper bassline, funky enough to make Gorgon City proud. Off color chords and a greater emphasis on vocal sampling flip the track into a new dish altogether, more suitable for after hour sets this time around.
