Skrillex and Damian Marley’s ‘Make It Bun Dem’ goes gold
Multiple Grammy-winner Skrillex and reggae legend, Damian Marley, teamed up back in 2012 for the dub/dancehall crossover “Make It Bun Dem.” Now, over a year later, the collaboration has just achieved gold status for selling over 501,000 copies in the United States and has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The milestone makes Marley the first Jamaican to go gold since Gyptian’s 2010 hit “Hold Yuh” achieved the status last June.
“Make It Bun Dem” continues to hold its own on Billboard’s Digital Reggae Singles Chart, holding a third spot after spending several weeks in the chart’s number one spot.
The single has charted in the U.K., Australia, France, Sweden, Belgium and Austria and currently has over 115 million YouTube hits.
