Steve Aoki raises $65,000 for multiple health and research organizations

From cake thrower to philanthropist, Steve Aoki has raised over $65,000 during his Aokify America North American tour via his Steve Aoki Charitable Fund. For each ticket sold, Aoki donated a dollar to four health and research organizations including: Brain Preservation Foundation, University of Rochester Medical Center- Memory Care Program, American Brain Foundation, and Infusio. Steve’s donations, as the names of the research centers and projects suggest, are targeted toward neurological health. Fans of the DJ were asked to vote for their favorite organization via Steve’s Facebook page with Brain Preservation taking the lead.

This isn’t the first time Steve has showed his charitable side. In January, he asked the dance music community to assist Daniel “DJ Gooddan21″ Amaya, who suffers from the genetic disorder Osteogeneses Imperfecta, in raising the tuition funds to attend Icon Collective.

When asked about his contributions, he states, “My philanthropy work is just as important to me as my music. I’ve been involved with many charities and non-profit organizations throughout my career, and I always take the time to give back and volunteer when I can. These four organizations represent the best in what they do, and I’m stoked to be working with them.”
