Watch This: RBMA’s What Difference Does It Make: A Film About Making Music

“We’re trying to talk about life. This is for a featured film that’s about when someone decides to become a musician, everything that they are going to encounter in their life. The journey they’re going to take.”

In celebrating it’s 15th year in the running, Red Bull Music Academy has released a documentary diving into the last year in the life of the New York institution. Founded in 1998, RBMA is a world-traveling series of music workshops and festivals featuring leading icons in today’s musical landscape. What Difference Does It Make: A Film About Making Music showcases inspirational words from Brian Eno, Giorgio Moroder, Erykah Badu and countless other influential producers.

“When I started making music, it was because I wanted to make a kind of sound I had heard sometime, or imagined I’d heard,” Brian Eno explains. “And so I think that’s the beginning. The beginning is when you want to make something because you so much want to hear it or see it.”

Check out RBMA’s hour and a half long documentary for a front row seat on the lives and trials of the era’s most powerful musicians.
