Watch This: Skrillex honors Paul Bäumer during set at Regency Ballroom
On just the second evening of his Takeover tour, Sonny Moore took a moment to honor one of electronic music’s most recent lost legends – Paul Bäumer of the Bingo Players. Although Paul’s passing occurred nearly two months ago, time will not erase the impact he had on fans and fellow producers alike. Skrillex‘s tribute to his companion, whom he first befriended while at Creamfields in 2011, serves as a reminder that of the truly communal nature of the dance community. To conclude his set at Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, Sonny spoke:
“Raise your hand if you’re a fan of the Bingo Players. if you’re a fan of the Bingo Players, you know we lost a friend named Paul, who was the first half to the Bingo Players. And I got the pleasure of touring with him years ago in Australia. He was a good buddy of mine.
