Krewella – Enjoy The Ride (Armin van Buuren + Vicetone Remixes)
Remix duties for savvy commercial dance kingpins Krewella have often separated the boys from the men. For their recent single “Enjoy The Ride,” the established and the upcoming of Dutch dance music cross paths for a Euro-centric take on the trio’s vocal set piece.
Armin van Buuren more often plays the role of remixed than remixer, making his decision to don a hand to “Enjoy The Ride” all the more intriguing for the first quarter of 2014. Though it isn’t quite the upfront caliber we’ve come to expect from the ousted DJ Mag chart topper, the track’s lean towards the treasured sound of European trance is sure to gain some brownie points for an artist often accused of edging further towards the commercial market than some fans would like. Past Armin’s trance-orientated offering, Dutch newcomers Vicetone remain in positive motion with the follow-up to February’s “Lowdown” for Spinnin Records. Their melodic big room agenda remains familair yet notably inoffensive to the over-saturated market, making this safe yet suitably powerful remix a hopeful nod for the year ahead.
