Tiësto cancels Venezuela show in light of political unrest
After lighting the fire as the first in a the bizarre string of hospital-related DJ news, Tiësto – now fully recovered – has announced yet another cancellation in his schedule. Originally slated to perform in Caracus, Venezuela on April 4th, the Musical Freedom chief has pulled the plug on his South American show, explaining in a statement that “it’s no time to party.”
Tiësto’s decision stems from Venezuela’s state of political limbo. Since February, political uproar in Nicolás Maduro’s government has sparked massive military demonstrations throughout the country as civilians face imprisonment in military compounds and paramilitary groups look to terminate protesters.
