M4SONIC signs multi-album deal with Sony Music and Ultra Records

On Wednesday, Australian bedroom musician/YouTube launchpad artist M4SONIC signed a multi-album deal with Sony Music and Ultra Records. Originally inspired by Deadmau5’s diatribe on DJs simply pressing buttons, Nicky Boundy (M4SONIC) uploaded a 3 minute-long YouTube video of himself playing a Launchpad like a piano. Within a few weeks, the short clip had over a million views and was followed up with another video named “Virus.” Shortly after, M4SONIC flew to New York and created the melody for Ylvis’ “What Does The Fox Say?” Nick’s meteoric rise has been widely credited as a combination of his unique talent and social media marketing tactics; now with the backing of two of dance music’s biggest names, expect bigger things to come from M4SONIC in the near future.
