British house breakout Route 94 entered the UK charts at number one yesterday courtesy of radio-savvy vocal single “My Love.” Initially released back in December on Beatport, the Jess Glynne-fronted Virgin/EMI single spared little time knocking Pharrell’s “Happy” off the top spot for its formal release, adding to an otherwise positive spiral of UK dance assets storming the popular charts. With a debut EP for Defected Records due to drop on March 31 and summer festival duties already racking up, suggestions that Route 94 could be the UK’s answer to North American trailblazer MK are looking more and more realistic by the month.
