Sweden’s Joey Massa has spawned from a contemporary trap newcomer to a sizeable big room asset at the blink of an eye, using 2013’s “BLVCK” to send the industry taste buds soaring into the New Year. Now, the Diplo-approved talent joins familiar peer Raymond Lam to take the reigns of “Kids,” unleashing a wrecking ball of energy on his national peer’s recent crossover hit. Whilst the subtle triplets and 808-fuelled digressions speak of Massa’s more ubran-esque roots, this collaborative re-imagining gives the peak time airwaves considerable melodic stamina. Major label remixes too often invoke half measure efforts, but Massa and co. breaks the habit of a lifetime with this landmark appearance from two artists you should hope to be hearing a lot more from as the year unfolds.
