Verboten establishes itself in Williamsburg, NY; grand opening tonight

For New Yorkers, last summer can be defined by a number of memorable events: Governors Ball, Webster Hall’s ‘Brite Nites,’ RPM Presents’ weekend shows at Governors Island, and Electric Zoo. Among these, many might also remember the introduction of Verboten’s StageONE parties: a series of events held at numerous locations along Brooklyn’s waterfront. Verboten’s lineup featured artists like Sasha, Maya Jane Coles, Guy Gerber, Luciano and more, enhancing New York’s already favorable techno, deep house and tech house scene.

Verboten’s highly successful turnout in summer 2013 has afforded the brand to permanently establish itself in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. From March 14th-15th, Verboten’s doors will unfasten for its grand opening weekend. What was once a former metal manufacturing warehouse has now transformed into a 750-person capacity venue featuring a Martin Audio sound system custom designed by ITI Audio and a panoramic HD video wall with visual projections and 3D mapping.

Moving forward, Verboten not only plans on bringing unique lineups to New York, but also more leisurely entertainment such as art shows, yoga classes and burlesque performances.

The weekend-long events will begin tonight showcasing Damian Lazarus, Francesca Lombardo, Fur Coat and Ida Engberg. Verboten residents Pattern Drama will also make an appearance at Verboten’s opening weekend. Check out Verboten’s website for more information.
