Los Angeles-based Mad Decent trapstar ETC! ETC! has teamed up with newcomer Tighttraxx, taking on Yellow Claw‘s “DJ Turn it Up” and delivering their own bumping rendition. Though the original mix lies in the 100-bpm realm, the pair up the tempo, seamlessly working in groovy snare rolls to their 128-bpm remix. In bringing up the energy, the two producers creatively modify the first break into a thumping main stage arrangement followed by a hip-swinging half-time break down. The track bounces between big room, trap, and electro, enhanced with snappy drum additions, all while preserving the original’s clean, hip-hop vibe. The remix also dons it’s own unique flavor with the addition of some crisp vocal samples layered throughout.
