At this rate, Botnek must even be impressing themselves. The duo’s production work that originally hit the radar brought a breath of fresh air, originality, and seemingly few flaws. Even dating back to August’s “I Know,” their sound defied stale routines of peers — so much so that it became quickly distinguished. Fast forward to the present, and Botnek is finding new voids to be conquered rather than filling and refilling those already in existence. Their remix of “Raise The Dead” pays testament to the success of the endeavor without a shred of a doubt, and their latest could be accused of steroid use. In tandem with 3LAU, Botnek returns to Dim Mak for a record as frenetic as any released this year. Simply put, “Vikings” makes the current Beatport Top 10 look like a list of lullabies.
