BMG acquires UK dance label Loaded Records and its subsidiary Skint

BMG, the world’s fourth-largest publisher in the world (with music interests owned by Sony Music Entertainment) has just announced the acquisition of Loaded Records and its subsidiary Skint. Representing two of the UK’s largest independent labels, both Loaded and Skint have the rights to 2.5k tracks with over 10 million albums and 15 millions singles sold. This acquisition includes full international rights (excluding North America) for Fatboy Slim’s entire recording catalog among other producers, and continues BMG’s foray into the world of EDM.

In January 2013, the publishing company secured the rights to US dance label Strictly Rhythm. Earlier in 2014 BMG acquired Talpa Music, the EDM music publisher with rights to songs from juggernauts Afrojack and Laidback Luke.
