Though released in the springtime, Curses’ new “Winter Talks” EP hearkens back to the frosty vibes of a New York City winter. The EP packs a trio of selections: with the eponymous track, a layer of synthy eighth notes leads the way. Probably the most dancefloor-friendly one is “Stalker” which drops in its share of low-pitched vocals and a groovy, headnodic bassline. With “Slow Lights”, Curses unveils his inner visionary with ethereal and sparse instrumentation.
