Electric Zoo increases security measures, adds Steve Aoki and Armin Van Buuren to review board
Electric Zoo, the yearly Labor Day weekend dance music festival held at Randall’s Island in New York has officially announced increased security measures for its 2014 installment. This comes as no surprise following lasts year’s cancellation of the Electric Zoo’s final day after two drug-related deaths and four hospitalizations. Being that the festival took place in the biggest media market in the world, the news sent shock waves through the dance music community as well as the general public. Shortly after, a review board was put together that includes Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren, security experts, music industry experts, and doctors who came together in a series of meetings to ensure the safety and well being of all the attendees.
Electric Zoo is also planning to ramp up efforts on making their zero tolerance policy on drugs very clear to everyone planning on attending the festival.
