Though Laidback Luke is busy reveling over the birth of his newborn daughter, EvaLina, his latest effort proves to fans that he is fully capable of being both a full time father and a producer. Offering a minute-and-a-half preview of his collaboration with UK-based D.O.D., “Flashing Lights” exhibits an accelerated mixture of gritty plucks, percussive pops and gypsy-inspired stylistics. Lingering basslines and hard-hitting progressions infiltrate the track’s eccentric shell, adding to Mixmash’s already-exuberant accumulation of releases.
