MTV signed as exclusive broadcast partner for Tomorrowland
MTV announced today that it will be the exclusive broadcast partner for Belgium’s Tomorrowland. ID&T’s most popular electronic dance music event will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary and will be televised for the first time. MTV will air live footage from the festival as part of its MTV World Stage programming, with two World Stage specials aired on its 60 channel network. Bruce Gillmer, EVP of Talent and Programming for Viacom International Media Networks, had this to say of the partnership:
“Tomorrowland is a festival in a category of its own, so we’re excited to bring this content to MTV’s international audiences. Electronic dance music has been part of MTV’s repertoire for almost two decades, stretching right back to the early years – particularly in Europe. So working with Tomorrowland is a perfect fit, and connects us with the new generation of EDM fans and followers around the world.”
Tomorrowland sold out 360,000 tickets in just under an hour, as world famous DJ/producers Hardwell, Tiesto, Diplo and many others have confirmed their attendance.
