Stefan of Dada Life updates fans on post-surgery status
Nearly a month ago, Stefan Engblom, one half of Dada Life, was transported back to Sweden for emergency surgery – just days before he was to appear alongside partner Olle Corneer at Ultra Music Festival. Keeping fans in the loop through social media and their website, a photo of Stefan, lying in a hospital bed and barely managing to hold a thumbs up, was posted to Dada Life’s Instagram account.
Stefan also posted a message on their website regarding why he has been absent for Dada Life’s past few shows. Due to post-surgery complications, he will not be able to attend the shows in Toronto, Scottsdale and Las Vegas scheduled for this weekend. Because the duo would hate to disappoint fans, Olle will be holding the Dada Life flag solo this weekend, performing full sets as normal. However, the pair are looking into rescheduling these dates out of respect for the Dada Land Compound, which simply cannot take place without Stefan’s presence. Read his message below.
Hi All – Firstly, thank you all for the kind words and get well wishes.. has been a big help!
I wanted to keep you posted since I haven’t been at the last few shows.. the surgery was completed last week but there have been some complications since then that have needed me to go back to hospital. I’m back on the mend now, but won’t be able to make the shows next weekend in Toronto, Scottsdale and Vegas. Olle will be coming to all shows and performing a full Dada Life set.
I’ll keep everyone posted as things progress.
Please note, we never want to cancel shows unless we absolutely have to, so Olle is coming to play a show for those that want to go and we are planning a rescheduled date for the Dada Land Compound.
