Two Detroit-based dance music festivals cancelled

Two Detroit EDM festivals scheduled to take place on July 4th – 6th have been cancelled. The free Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) at Campus Martius Park and Federation of Electronic Music Technology (FEMT) at Ford Field were called off on their official website due to rail system construction in downtown Detroit and a “number of exciting festival developments that require more time to ensure their proper presentation.” Ticket purchasers will receive a refund or the opportunity to exchange them for the 2015 festival. Both DEMF and FEMT will take place on July 3rd – 5th in 2015 and ticket buyers are encouraged to send organizers a message on the FEMT Facebook page to receive a special gift of appreciation. The cancellations will have no effect on Detroit’s Movement festival which is still scheduled to take place on Memorial Day Weekend.
