DA Premiere: NAPT – Come Like This ft. Roska (Original Mix)
N-Funk originators, Ashley Pope and Tomek Naden, better known as NAPT, team up with Rinse FM’s own Roska on “Come Like This.” Right in line with their previous collab with Roska on Fool’s Gold, the third cut off their forthcoming NEST-supported EP clamors with a hefty does of feel-good funk. The drum work here is all Roska’s, leveraging his UK garage aesthetic to work seamlessly with NAPT’s upbeat grooves and quirky synthwork. It’s yet another deceptively entrancing output from the talented duo.
The duo had this to say about the release:
“The collaboration with Roska from Rinse FM came about after our two track Fool’s Gold EP. Roska supplied us some of his great drum work outs. We recorded Ashley’s voice (the voice behind “Surrender”) through an old mic, pitched and mixed it with chopped elements and our trusty Jupiter 8 synth to create this bricolage classic house record, which has a definitive raw sample based twist.”
Come Like This EP will be released for free on May 19th via OWSLA’s Nest HQ.
