Watch This: A-Trak joins The Roots last-minute on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

If you’re an avid The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon fan, then you’ve probably already seen A-Trak perform with The Roots on Monday night. But if you missed it: we got you covered.

The Roots performed the second track of their brand new LP, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin entitled “Never”. The featured singer of the song, Patty Cash, was absent, but we find master turntablist, producer and tastemaker A-Trak adjacent to Questlove as a pleasant and last minute surprise. The Fool’s Gold labelboss provides and scratches in Patty Cash’s spellbinding voice with a single turntable, with the beautiful harmonic support of the Metropolis Ensemble. In addition to his latest and upcoming side projects, including the revived Dipset crew, Lex Luger and others, A-Trak proudly showcases his love for and compatibility with hip-hop and soul.

Of course, the spotlight of the performance weighs heavily on the Roots who have an unrivaled style and sound. Sometimes one forgets exactly how truly amazing The Roots are having the privilege of listening to them every night as The Tonight Show’s house band… Sometimes.
