Barclays Center cracks down on under 18 fans during Avicii show
Last week, over 50 hospitalizations marred Avicii’s Boston performance, putting dance music once again under an unattractive spotlight. In response to the increased scrutiny, Barclays Center took a stance against all ages fans on Saturday night. At Avicii’s performance at the venue any fans under the age of 18 and any individuals who were visibly intoxicated were banned from entering. In an attempt to better manage their risk, security ID’d every ticket holder and turned all attendees under the age of 18 away at the door, even parents and their children who had legitimately purchased tickets.
According to CBS Local, crowds of unhappy parents and their underage teenagers lined the streets outside the event, angry that they could not attend despite being accompanied by an adult.
They also banned stuffed animals.
