Jimmy Edgar next in line to produce HARD Summer 2014 mixtape
Seasoned veteran Jimmy Edgar is doing more with his time than simply touring North America performing at festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival and HARD Summer. The latter is imminently approaching, and in proper HARD fashion, a series of mixtapes leading up to the annual event are periodically being released to make the festival’s arrival feel a bit more real. Already having recruited Seth Troxler, Alex Metric and others to produce hour-long mixes specially for the August celebrations, it only seems appropriate that Edgar would be next in line to present its sixth mix. True fans of the Detroit-based artist will find themselves immersed within a stripped down aesthetic that screams minimal techno but occasionally dabbles with deep house. Original mixes such as “Strike” unite with Kaos Souljahs’ “Melody Refix,” Neana’s “Aggro Satin Theme” and Chambray’s “Ease” to make for a seamless summertime playlist just before heading to HARD Summer’s new home, Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
