Scotland’s T in the Park will relocate from Balado to Strathallan Castle in 2015
Scotland’s largest music festival, T in the Park, will move locations from longtime home Balado to Strathallan Castle in 2015. CEO Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts and Events, the promoter who puts on T in the Park, released the statement below regarding the move:
“We already loved Strathallan Castle and had been hoping to host an event there for many years. When it became clear we’d need to leave Balado to safeguard the future of the festival, we became very excited about the prospect of Strathallan becoming the new home for T in the Park. Like Balado, it’s right in the heart of Scotland and is easy to locate. The landscape is stunning and it has a fantastic natural amphitheatre which will lend itself beautifully for the main stage.”
While the reasons for the relocation were not revealed, BBC points out that there were substantial health and safety concerns raised by inspectors about a pipeline running underneath the park. The final T in the Park in Balado will take place July 11th – 13th and will feature Calvin Harris, the Artic Monkeys, and many more.
