Ariana Grande enlists Cashmere Cat for new song, ‘Be My Baby’
Ariana Grande is breaking ground with her vocal talents, and she’s getting help from electronic producers to set the backdrop of her upcoming album. Most recently was her collaboration with Zedd, “Break Free,” which had the “Clarity” producer outing one of his more simple tunes, but one that matched up perfectly for radio. Grande’s next partner in crime, however, comes as a surprise. Cashmere Cat has been tapped for duties on “Be My Baby,” and he’s already playing it out himself, previewing it in New York last weekend where it was captured on video. Subsequently surfacing, the recording gives a glimpse into chemistry opposite of her recent singles — less club, dance-pop and more soothing, elegant electronica that plays into the singers talents that have her hailed as a young Mariah Carey.
