Capa – Walls (Original Mix) [Preview]

Bred in Sweden and propelled into the spotlight courtesy of an early spat of success alongside Toolroom Records, the longstanding silence of CaPa spelled the bowing of one of the nation’s most promising progressive house talents of 2012 and beyond. He lands off the heels of production duties for Icona Pop’s “Girlfriend,” the young talent steps back up to the mark with a brand new original cut for Zerothree this month.

As his first original production since 2013’s “Gold,” long overdue follow-up “Walls” is everything and more his early productions had the pallets watering over in his earlier days. A firm balance of functional progressive composition with enough melodic textures and energetic ascents to keep both club goers and genre snobs alike in check, “Walls” is uplifting without the cheese and exciting without the tedious big room hallmarks. If there were any doubts that CaPa was still in the running as a crucial Swedish contender, 2014’s golden-boy effort is enough to have us rethinking what we thought we knew about this impressive European upstart.
