Chet Faker – Gold (Flume Re-work)
Flume and Chet Faker have proven a deadly combination. What started with Faker’s beautiful vocals on Harley’s “Left Alone” soon led to the two’s collaborative EP, Lockjaw, boasting the haunting “Drop the Game.” With Chet’s 2014 album Built on Glass still making the rounds, Flume has taken his self-professed favorite song from the album, “Gold,” and instilled some of his revered production. Manipulating Faker’s vocals into a looping, lo-passed chorus, the Australian wunderkind creates a comfortable beat, highlighted by a moody sidechained pad and some synchronized, panning white noise. Flume’s re-work is available on iTunes alongside Chet’s original for those in Australia.
